Chemical, Biological Incident Response Force (CBIRF) support for homeland security. CBIRF has the ability to forward, deploy, and respond to a credible threat of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or high-yield explosive incident. This program provides agent detection and identification, casualty, search, rescue, and personnel. It also provides emergency medical decontamination and the stabilization of contaminated personnel.
NBC Joint Warning and Reporting Network (JWARN). This program consists of a hardware interface device and software that automate the reporting of nuclear biological and chemical incidents response services in DOD.
Joint Biological Point Detection System (JBPDS). This program involves a suite of electronic equipment mounted in either a transportable shelter or a trailer which monitor for, detect, and identify airborne biological threat agents. This program will meet the Joint Chiefs' urgent requirement to enhance the survivability of U.S. Forces faced with biological warfare threats.
Joint Chemical Agent Detector (JCAD). This program involves use of a small chemical agent detector that can be mounted on various surfaces and conduct continuous monitoring of the air.
Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Individual Protective Equipment Team at the Marine Corps System Command. (IPE) The Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Individual Protective Equipment Team (NBC IPE) manages a diverse portfolio of life-saving equipment projects. Of the 17 items the team manages, 8 have been fielded and are actively managed by the team. In addition, the NBC IPE team manages the strategic planning for all DOD research and Biological Defense Program and acts as the single DOD focal point for all IPE-related issues generated from high-level sources. The team functions on a task-organized basis, utilizing people with specific skill sets as project needs are identified. The core of the team is a group of Level III DAWIA certified government professionals. This team is augmented with Kalman & Company, Inc. professionals possessing specialized skill sets in acquisition management and related areas such as PWS development; acquisition plan development; QASP development and independent cost estimates. As project phases and needs change, the Kalman & Company, Inc. acquisition team is reconfigured to bring in the necessary talent and eliminate unnecessary skill sets. Kalman & Company, Inc. management personnel actively participate in this process. Kalman & Company, Inc. personnel provide project management expertise that identifies important project meetings, milestones and travel schedules. Kalman & Company, Inc. continues to support acquisition management requirements for the NBC-IPE Team on a full time basis.
Business/Technical Studies and Analysis. The Kalman & Company, Inc. Team has evaluated the cost-effectiveness of alternative subsystems for the Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR) and logistics scenarios for the Logistics Vehicle System Replacement (LVSR).
NBCD Strategic Logistics Asset Management (SLAM). Kalman & Company, Inc. provides contractor support to the SLAM program. The program, initiated in 2003, was designed to significantly improve force readiness by ensuring that NBCD equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and that Marine Corps units are provided the appropriate type and quantity of NBCD equipment when deploying. NBCD equipment is being relocated from individual units to one of 12 NBC Consolidated Storage Facilities (CSFs) being strategically located across the Marine Corps operating Forces and the National Capital Region.
Kalman & Company, Inc. personnel provide overall program management at the SLAM Program Management Office. This support includes financial analysis, acquisitions analysis and logistics management of the NBCD equipment. |
